OVERVIEW
Introduction:
Khaptad national park is one of the most well-preserved areas that is located in the far-wester region, Nepal which was established in 1984.stretched over and touching four districts of bajhang, bajura achham, and doti, the area itself covers around 225kmsq and ranges from 1400m (4,600ft) to 3300m (10,800ft).
This National park was named after the renowned “khaptad baba the region”s holy man also the khaptad ashram located at Tribeni is an important destination for pilgrims and tourists visiting Khaptad.
The national park is a living garden for herbs and its stunning natural presentation. It reportedly harbours 567 species of flora. The place has got its natural history for 224 species of medicinal herbs.The vegetation types include chis-pine rhododendron forest, oak forest and Himalayan fir-hemlock-oak forest and alder forest in riverine areas
The park is the home for 23 mammals, 287 birds, and 23 amphibians and reptiles. The park offers outstanding bird- watching opportunities, with 270 species of birds.

ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
After you arrive in TIA, our representative will be waiting for you to guide through the streets of Kathmandu and reach to your selected hotel. In the evening you can roam the local areas nearby the hotel and the heritages nearby. You can go through the maps and outlines of the trip at the night. We will also be providing you the orientation for the trek in the afternoon. -
Day 2: Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (198m) and drive to Buditola
We will commence our journey with a flight to Nepalgunj which will be of an hour. We will have our lunch in Nepalgunj and again take a drive of four hours to Buditola. On the way, you will see the Karnali river which is the longest river in Nepal. Our overnight will be in Buditola. -
Day 3: Drive from Buditola to Silgadhi (1330m)
After having breakfast, we will take a drive of six hours to Silgadhi. Silgadhi is said to be one of the famous cities of this region, you can find restaurants and hotels here. On the way, we can enjoy the scene from the jeep. The landscapes and nature make the journey beautiful. After reaching Silgadhi, we will have our food and spend a night in a hotel. You can also visit Saileshwari temple here. -
Day 4: Trek from Silgadhi to Jhigrana (2300m)
Today we will start our trek with seven hours of walk to Jhigrana. The route passes through the forest which consists of rhododendron. Jhigrana is the entry of Khaptad. We will pause the trail at Baglek for lunch which is three and a half hour from Silgadhi. After lunch, we will continue our trail and reach Jhigrana and spend the night there in a lodge. -
Day 5: Trek from Jhigrana to Bukipani (3080m)
After having breakfast, we will continue our trail. We will have to complete a walk of six to seven hours to reach Bukipani. The routes will pass along the riverside and the beautiful chirping of the birds. We will take our lunch at Bichpani. You will also get to see some rare species some at places. The villagers here are full of beautiful traditions and cultures. We will spend our night in Bukipani. -
Day 6: Trek from Bukipani to Khaptad (3010m)
Leaving Bukipani we will walk for Khaptad after having breakfast. Today our trek will be for a short period time that is two hours to reach khaptad. It is a terai region so on the way you will see huge grasslands which are just used for animal grazing by the villagers. Our night will be in Khaptad and rest day you can see around. -
Day 7: Explore Khaptad National Park
We have an entire day to explore today. We will visit Khaptad National park which has unique and rare species and a variety of vegetation. Here you can find more than 224 species of medical herbs, 270 species of birds, and a variety of animals. This park is rich in floras and faunas. We will also visit the Khaptad museum, Khaptad Danda, and tower. Khaptad is a mysterious land full of wonders. Khaptad is also famous for its religious purpose. One can also visit Khaptad Baba Ashram as a meditational site. You can also see the Nagdhunga and kedardhunga. We will spend our night in Khaptad. -
Day 8: Descend to Jhigrana (7 hrs walk)
Leaving khaptad, we will step back to Jhigrana following the same route. We will stop in Bichpani for our lunch and again continue the trail and reach Jhigrana. Overnight in jhigrana. -
Day 9: Trek from Jhigrana to Silgadhi via Uditola (1790m)
We will head our trail after breakfast. After two hours of walk, we will reach Uditola and then head for Silgadhi after lunch. We will spend our evening exploring Silgadhi, interacting with the locals, and have a night in a lodge at Silgadhi. -
Day 10: Drive from Silgadhi to Dhangadhi
Today we will take a drive to dhangadhi after early morning breakfast. Your journey will be beautiful having scenic views outside the window. Overnight in Dhangadhi. -
Day 11: Drive from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu (or take a flight)
Today we will end the journey by reaching Kathmandu. You can either take a drive to Kathmandu that will be around six hours or you can take a flight of 1 hr and 20 minutes. After reaching Kathmandu our representative will drop you at your hotel. -
Day 12: Departure from Kathmandu
Our representative will help you reach to TIA by arranging you a farewell lunch in a typical Nepali style and help you at the airport to fly you back to your place. In case you want further trips to Nepal, you can inform us, we will arrange it for you as per your comfort.
