OVERVIEW
The Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri trek is an enticing route attainable through Sagarmatha National Park. This trek is a moderate trek in the high Himalayas of the Everest region. ITINERARY

Day 1 : Welcome at airport and transport to one of the best hotels in Kathmandu
After arriving in the lovely capital of Nepal via Tribhuwan International Airport, our agents will be there to receive you and transfer you to one of the standard hotels of Kathmandu. -
Day 2 : Traverse around Kathmandu and explore its heritage sites
You’ll have a very wonderful time by exploring some of the greatest cultural and historical heritages of Kathmandu. Have a very gracious time and prepare for your trekking by buying some of the crucial recommended gears. -
Day 3 : Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and trek to Phakding
On this day, you will be flying from Kathmandu to Lukla in a domestic plane. The flight is scenic and exciting. The morning flights are wonderful as you can see the incredible views of the astounding Himalayas from the window. After landing in Lukla, you will be trekking over the flatly descending trails towards Phakding. Following the twists and turns of Dudh Kosi river, you will reach Phakding overnight. -
Day 4 : Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar
On this day, you will be traveling through the wonderful trails on Everest towards Namche Bazaar. Namche is known as the gateway to Everest. It is the most popular name in the Everest region. The trekking trial is more difficult than on the previous day. There are many ascents and exciting suspension bridges to conquer. You will be walking through the small villages like Monjo and Jhorsale to Namche. The day is long and tiring, yet thrilling and rip-roaring. After the tiresome ascents before Namche, you will see the most pleasing view of Namche Bazaar. You will get to Namche town overnight. -
Day 5 : Acclimatization day at Namche
Acclimatization day is for you to adapt to the high altitude weather. Before the trek to higher altitudes like to Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri, you need to adapt and be friends with the thinning air and decreasing temperature. For this, you will be hiking to the Hotel Everest View, which is the hotel at the highest altitude in Nepal. It should also be kept in mind to not overdo the walk and walk all day long so that you don’t tire yourself and remain energized. -
Day 6 : Trek to Dole
The trek to Dole from Namche is as exciting as yesterday’s walk. The trial is easy and flat up to Mong, where you can stop your walk and have your lunch. From there, the trial to Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lake separates. There is a pass called Mong La. The trial to Dole is rugged and dusty. But the amazing Himalayas will be energizing you. Walk at a slow pace enjoying everything that you see. You will reach a teahouse in Dole overnight. -
Day 7 : Dole to Machhermo
Today, you will be following the Gokyo Lake trekking trial to Macchermo. The trial is an uphill trial. You should climb slowly and gradually to Macchermo. You must keep yourself hydrated. You are going above 4500 m which is a big thing, so you must take care of your health. Walk around exploring Macchermo in the evening. Acclimatize yourself there by breathing the thin air in. At night, you can stay at a lodge in Macchermo. -
Day 8 : Machhermo to Gokyo Lakes (4,790 m)
Today, there will be less ascent trial than yesterday’s one. However, you need to keep yourself hydrated and take rest at times while you trek. Finally, you will be trekking to the tranquil Gokyo Valley today. The trial is amazing and the terrain is uniquely amazing. You get to see beautiful Himalayan vistas. The Gokyo village is a wonderful village which has the Gokyo Third Lake: Dudh Pokhari in its front yard. There are few lodges and teahouses in the villages. You will be staying overnight there. -
Day 9 : Early morning hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) and trek back to Gokyo Lake for night stay
Gokyo Ri is the Nepali name for the famous peak Gokyo Peak. Gokyo Ri is the famous viewpoint in the Gokyo Valley trek. You will be trekking to Gokyo Ri early in the morning. The charismatic sunrise from the top over the great snowy peaks. From there, you will get to see the turquoise blue Gokyo lakes and the Gokyo village itself. You will have to trek back to Gokyo Lake (valley) for a night stay. -
Day 10 : Trek from Gokyo to astounding Renjo-La Pass and heading Lunde
Gokyo Renjo-La Pass trekking is an exclusive experience you will get today. This pass offers the enigmatic view of the world’s tallest mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho-Oyu and other outstanding Himalayas. This trek will lead you to Lunde, which is a narrow valley where you may find a hotel for a night stay. -
Day 11 : Lunde to Namche Bazaar
Today, you will be heading to one of the most popular places which is often regarded as the “Gateway of Everest” and also “Heart of Khumbu”, Namche Bazaar. The trial is long. But, you don’t have to worry about altitude sickness. However, there are many trekkers who get injured on their way back. So, even though the walk is easy, you must walk carefully. You can get a hotel for a night stay at Namche. Since it is a beautiful town at 3450 meters, you might want to explore the market or go to the café and have a cup of tea or coffee. -
Day 12 : Trek back to Lukla
The trek back to Lukla is going to be a long day. You already know how far you are from Lukla. So, you must start the trek earlier, so that it will be much easier. The trials will not be so busy. Walking through the amazing trials, you will be walking through small villages, jungles, and over Dudh Koshi on thrilling suspension bridges. You can have lunch at any place on your way back. After a long tiring day, Lukla is a pleasant place to stay. It is a small town with amazing hotels, cafes and shops. You can also buy some souvenirs of the place for your families, friends and loved ones. -
Day 13 : Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla and get to the hotel
This is officially your final day of the trek to Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri. Early in the morning, you will fly back to Kathmandu. After returning to Kathmandu, we will escort you to your hotel in a private vehicle. -
Day 14 : Departure
You will be heading back to your home by bidding farewell to Nepal and its amazing hospitable people. Make sure you open the suitcase of beautiful memories at your home that you created in Nepal.
