OVERVIEW
Introduction
Gokyo Renjo-La Pass trek is one of the challenging and adventurous trekking routes of Nepal. This trek is an amazing trail in the Khumbu region. This trek leads you to the beautiful Gokyo valley. This route is one of the famous routes for trekking in Nepal. This trail is an escape from the main route to reach the Everest base camp. During the journey, you will get to interact with many locals and get to see their cultures and lifestyles.
The trail offers you breathtaking views of mountains and lakes. With every step you move forward, you will get to experience and view something new and iconic. You will mainly find the locals of the Sherpa community who are the aboriginal people of the Himalayan region of Nepal. You will also visit many ancient monasteries on the way. Reaching the destination point you will get to see an iconic view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Makalu (8463m), Mt Thamsekru (6723m), Mt. Pumori (7145m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m), Mt. Nuptse (7855m), Mt. Amadablam (6856m), Mt. Makalu (8463m), and others.
The trail begins with a flight from Lukla which offers a mesmerizing view. The trail then moves towards Namche Bazaar which is a famous tourist area in this region. The journey also includes the visit to Sagarmatha National park. The track will sometimes go off-beat which can be a thrilling experience. Gokyo lake is also one of the major highlights of this trek. The trail takes you to one of the high mountains passing the Khumbu. This trek will add a glorious memory in your trekking diary. ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
After your arrival in TIA, our representative will be waiting for you to guide through the streets of Kathmandu and reach your selected hotel. In the evening you can roam the local areas nearby the hotel and the heritages nearby. You can go through the maps and outlines of the trip at night. -
Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft)
We will pick you up from the hotel in the morning after finishing your breakfast. Then, we will take a flight to Lukla. You will have an iconic view from the flight, Lukla airport is one of the thrilling airports in Nepal. As soon as we land in Lukla, we will start our trek for 3 hours to Phakding. On the way, we can see beautiful landscapes. We will spend the night at a guesthouse in Phakding. -
Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft) and acclimatization
After having breakfast, we will leave Phakding. Following the Dudh Koshi river we will ascend through Himalayan pine forest and reach Namche Bazaar. This village is famous for trade between Nepal and Tibet from ancient times, you will find many trekkers here. We will reach Namche by 1 o’clock and have the rest of the day exploring Namche. We will again hike for 5 hours and reach the highest airport in the world-Syangboche airport. We will then move towards the Everest view hotel which gives you a breathtaking view of many mountains including Everest, we will also visit monasteries. Overnight in Namche. -
Day 4: Trek from Namche to Dole (4200m/13776ft)
Leaving Namche we will head towards Dole. We will walk by Kyangjuma and climb steeply out of the valley. The routes blossomed with rhododendrons mostly in springtime. We will pass through huge pastures which were the grazing lands for yaks in this region. On the way, we will get some views of Khumbila and Twache. We will spend the night in a lodge in Dole. -
Day 5: Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4400m/14432ft)
After having morning breakfast, our trail climbs up Lambara and Luza. It will take us around 5 to 6 hours to reach Machheremo. The routes are mostly steeper. The routes pass through pastures, rivers, and climbs along the side of the valley. We will reach Machhermo after a few more steps which will be our stay for the night. -
Day 6: Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo Lake (4700m/15416ft)
We will leave for Gokyo Lake after having breakfast. We will climb a ridge for the view of the valley to Kantega and Cho Oyu. We will have a walk of 4 to 5 hours, the route passes through pangka and descends to the riverbank. Then we will climb up the moraine of Ngozumpa glacier. Reaching Gokyo Lake will have a relaxing view and we will have our night in a lodge here. -
Day 7: Hike to Gokyo RI (5360m/17880ft)
You will wake up with a beautiful view of the lake. Then we will climb up to the Gokyo-RI for the flattering view of Mahalangur Himalayan range. We will be climbing for two hours to reach the peak, from here you will have the view of the largest glacier of Nepal-Ngozumpa glacier and view of many breathtaking mountains like Cho Oyu, Everest, Makalu, Tawache and more. Then we will walk down for the night. -
Day 8: Trek to Lunden (4300m/14104ft) via crossing Renjo La Pass (5340m/17843ft)
We will have an adventurous and challengi day passing Renjo La Pass. The trail moves into the remote northern valley where access is restricted, you will see the landscapes here which are the borders for Tibet. Sometimes you can also get to see the Tibetan traders here. We will descend to Nangpa La Pass, we will see many yaks and landscapes here. We will spend the night in a guest house in Lunden. -
Day 9: Trek from Lunden to Thame (3800m/1346ft)
After having breakfast, our trail continues for 4 to 5 hours of walk. We will walk down to Thame which offers more beautiful snow peaks. If we walk 150m above from Thame, we will get to visit the ancient monastery which is the living of many monks. In the spring, Mani Rimdu festival of Budhhist is celebrated here. We will have our dinner and stay in a lodge of Thame. -
Day 10: Descend to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft)
Following the same route and views we will descend to Namche Bazaar which will take us around 5 hours of walk. Our night will be at a hotel in Namche Bazaar. -
Day 11: Trek from Namche to Lukla (2800m/9184ft)
After having morning breakfast, we will leave for Lukla. The trail moves along the Dudh Koshi river and small mountain views. We will spend a night at Lukla enjoying the views and accommodations of locals. -
Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla
Finishing our breakfast, we will head towards Lukla airport and take a flight for Kathmandu. Enjoying the view from the flight we will reach Kathmandu. Our representative will drop you at your hotel and you can rest for the day or you can also sightsee Kathmandu valley if you want to. -
Day 13: Departure from Kathmandu
We will arrange a farewell in the traditional Nepali way. Then our representative will drop you at the airport for your departure. In case you want more treks in Nepal you can inform us we will arrange things as per your demand.
