A Trek to HELAMBU: A SEVEN DAY JOURNEY TO TAKE YOU STRAIGHT TO MOTHER NATURE’S LAP.
OVERVIEW
The Helambu trek is a pleasant sweet and short trip that ranges from altitude 800m to 3600m. This trek has lower altitude than other trek but we promise you that is once in a life experience. Helambu was originally called Hyolmo. The Helambu valley comprises of Hyolmo ethnic and culture. This trip will lead us to many Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, shrines and stupas were you will truly feel your spiritual self. The locals of this place are Sherpas and Tamangs whose lifestyle will truly fascinate you. Their way of living is pretty interesting and you will get to explore a lot.
This trekking trail is less crowded but nature will never fail to surprise you with its every freaking movement. We will be crossing a number of ridgelines and dense forests which has a picturesque scenery of different colours of rhododendron – national flower of Nepal. The bamboo forests and the lushy green landscape and meadows will give you all the peace and fresh air that you want. Eghity kilometres northeast of Kathmandu valley will take us to Sundari Jal after about an hour from where we will start our amazing journey. We will trek to Chisopani and following the trails we will end up finding the first permanently inhabited village of this trek. Trekking through the dense forests covered all in beautiful rhododendron and bamboos providing the most exotic view ever, we will reach Tharepati. Therapati is the highest point of this trek situated at an elevation of 3600m. Trekking along the luring Melamchi khola which is above an old village called Melamchi gaon is truly extra ordinary. The monasteries in this village gives us an insight to the Tibetan culture and ethnicity which is followed by the locals here. The spectacular view of soaring peaks will mesmerize you.
The Melamchi Khola Valley all covered in Lush green landscape and meadows will lead to amazing and exquisite Melamchi Pul Bazar. You will get to explore ton loads of things about culture of the locals along with their exquisite way of living. The spirituality will cleanse your soul and makes you spiritually uplifted. ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival at the heart of Nepal, Kathmandu.
After arriving in the lovely capital of Nepal via Tribhuwan International Airport, our agents will be there to receive you and transfer you to one of the standard hotels of Kathmandu. Freshen yourself up from the tiring flight. -
Day 2: Exploring and sightseeing of Kathmandu.
You will have time to relax and get fresh in your hotel. After getting some rest, you can go for last-minute souvenir shopping. If you want, our guides will advise the best sites to purchase souvenirs. In the dusk, you will have a farewell dinner with our office agents (along with guides) in a typical Nepali restaurant. We will drop you back to your hotel. Witness the alluring nightlife overnight in Kathmandu. -
Day 3: Drive to Sundarijal and trek to Chisopani (2,295m).
After having a delicious early morning breakfast, we will go on an hour’s drive to Sundrijal. It lies at the foothills of the valley and is the starting point of our trek. Upon arrival at Sundarijal, we begin our trek to Chisopani that will take about four to five hours. As we begin to trek, we will come across a small hydroelectric plant. The trail further takes us to Shivapuri National Park. Soon after, we arrive at the first settlement which is called Mulkhara after trekking up a ridgeat 1895m and about 600m above Sundarijal. It is mostly inhabited by the Tamang people. We can take a short break at Mulkhara as they have tea and snacks shops. Then we walk by the ridge and through a dense forest of oaks and rhododendrons. During spring, the forest will be blooming of multiple colored rhododendrons. After trekking through the forest we’ll finally reach Chisopani. -
Day 4: Trek to alluring Khutumsang (2,470m).
Waking up before dawn to observe the sunrise may be a perfect treat to us because the viewpoint from Chisopani is magnificent. Watching the sun rays hit the Himalayan range will certainly be a sight to behold. After taking our breakfast, we head for a journey to Kutumsang which takes about five to 6 hours. Today's trek starts with an honest trek by the meadows and fields enjoying the magnificent views of the Langtang Mountains. Then we descended to a saddle within the ridge, arriving at Pathi Bhanjyang, alittle and pleasant village. We further trek to Gul Bhanjyang climbing over landscapes and a ridge to a different pass. Another downhill trek following the pass will take us to Kutumsang. -
Day 5: Trek to exquisite Tharepati (3,690m).
After breakfast, we head towards the north of the Himalayas and this route gives us the gorgeous views of the snowy peaks approaching ahead. We climb above on a steep trail mostly through fir and rhododendron forest where there are not any permanent settlements. The forests are luscious and dense blooming covered in Nepal’s national flower; rhododendron. The trek follows to Yurin Danda with heavenly views of the soaring Himalayas. Shortly we reach a couple of lodges at Magen Goth near a satisfying meadow with spectacular mountain views. Finally, we reached Tharepati. -
Day 6 : Hike to TrakeGyang (2,600m).
The trek today is going to be interesting as we'll be seeing a special culture and lifestyle. This trek is about 5 hours. Within the beginning of the trek, we'll head towards the east, off the ridgeline and descending downwards as we'll reach the fascinating Melamchi village. It's inhabited by Sherpa people but they're different from the Sherpa to the east in Solu Khumbu. This village has interesting Buddhist Stupas shrines and monasteries that are visited by Guru Rinpoche and it's considered to be very sacred. Then we trek up to Tarkeghyang passing through Sherpa settlements enjoying the Himalayan peaks. We'll also discover the village’s ancient monastery which is one among the oldest and largest monasteries within the region. The village is more popularly mentioned as Helambu, since most of the inhabitants belong to the Hyolmo caste. -
Day 7: Trek to Sermanthang (2,590m).
The trek today is going to be pleasant as we'll not be gaining much altitude. The route will take us through dense forests, streams and waterfalls that have a shocking sight. As we trek, we'll be seeing many small villages between Parachin and therefore the Sherpa village of Gangyul. From Gangyul, we reach Sermathang. It's a gorgeous settlement with quite few Buddhist monasteries. We'll be exploring them as we study Buddhism. From Sermanthang the mountain views are absolutely mind-blowing. -
Day 8: Trek to Malemchi Bazar (850m).
After enjoying a relaxed morning with breakfast, we cherish the sunrise mountain views. Being the Judgment Day of the trek, today is going to be exciting and pleasant. Today we make an amiable hike down the gorgeous valley to the Melamchi River. Just out of Sermanthang we pass an outsized shrine to Guru Rinpoche then descend through villages and terraced fields. Over the Melamchi River we meet the road and at Malemchi Bazaar we arrange transport back to Kathmandu for the subsequent day. -
Day 9: Drive to Kathmandu.
Today we'll be departing the hills for a return to the traditional city of Kathmandu. The scenic route follows first along the Melamchi River offering pleasant views of the natural scenery and farmland. The repel to Kathmandu will take about four to 5 hours. Shortly, we'll reach the capital city; Kathmandu. Trekkers are going to be escorted to their respective hotels. Trekkers may shower and prefer to explore the town during the night as Thamel would be an excellent option. -
Day 10: International departure.
Time to announce your valediction to Nepal! Appreciate your ultimate moments in Kathmandu including breakfast during a café, a town stroll, or memorial shopping token of Kathmandu. An agent of our company will join you at your lodge and transport you to the airport for your return from aviation to home.
