In between stunning Himalayan Ranges, the PachPokhari which means five lakes provides a trekking experience in between untouched traditional villages until you reach the base of Mt. Jugal, to the gorgeous destination itself. The trek begins from Chautara of Sindhupalchowk. It is normally taken for as a sacred-pilgrimage trek preferably by the Hindus and Buddhists but, the natural significance it has increased the number of trekkers from all over the world. As you reach the destination, along with the outstanding lakes, you would also receive an astonishing view of some of the snow-capped mountains such as Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Phurbi Chhyachu (6,637m), Madiya (6,257m), Rolwaling and Langtang range, Jugal Himal, and many more surrounding the PachPokhari.

ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400 m)
Upon your arrival at the heart of the country, Kathmandu valley, our representatives would be welcoming and receiving you from the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to the lodge you would be staying in until we officially begin the trek. You would be resting and preparing for the days to come and we would do our best to provide you everything you need and answer all your queries. -
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Kathmandu has a lot to offer when it comes to sightseeing and exploring heritages. Before the actual trek begins, we would take you upon a full day trip around the Kathmandu valley providing you a glimpse of some worth visiting places. We would continue this trip after the trek ends too so that you experience the valley better. -
Day 03: Kathmandu to Chautara (1450 m)
This morning we had a beautiful 5-hour drive to the little village of Chautara. While small, Chautara is the district headquarter of Sindhupalchowk district and we will camp here tonight, ready to commence walking tomorrow. From our campsite, you can relax and enjoy the stunning mountain views, or if you like to explore, you can gain some insight into the culture and daily life of the village. -
Day 04: Hiking from Chautara to Sano Okharni (1965 m)
Hiking Duration: 5-6 Hrs. Now, the trek begins with a steady walk. The trail is moderate and also has an essence of mixed and ethnic settlements. It is a perfect example of how people of different castes and backgrounds are living harmoniously in the hilly region. We cross small streams and the terraced farmlands and we reach our campsite at Sano Okharni, near a pine forest after we ascend from the trail on an easy note. Overnight at the tented camp. -
Day 05: Hiking from Okhareni to Kami Kharka (2810 m)
Hiking Duration: 5-6 Hrs. It is an uphill climb from Sano Okhareni to Thulo Okhareni which usually takes an hour. After an hour, we reach a steeper trail which we need to climb for around 4-hours. The fascinating trail goes through the dense wood of the rhododendron and pine forest. The trail is popular for the views of the birds and some wild animals. Daphne, the national bird of Nepal is also found here. Then after a gentle walk, we reach a summer pasture ground and we conclude our today’s walk. Overnight at the tented camp. -
Day 06: The trip from Kami Kharka to Pauwa Bas (3000 m)
Hiking Duration: 4-5 Hrs. The trek goes through the tranquil forest region. Mostly, the trail we walk today lies in the rhododendron woods along with a company of juniper, oak, and pine forest. After a long walk, we can see some of the houses of the nomads for the migrating cattle herders. We reside around this land in Pauwa Bas. Overnight at the tented camp. -
Day 07: Pauwa Bas to Hile Bhanjyang (3400 m)
Hiking Duration: 5-6 Hrs. Through the steep uphill route, we continually ascend for about 3 hours, but at a gradual pace. Then, from the top of the hill, we start to descend through the steep downhill for about an and a half hour. The exciting mountain views from the trail and descend to our campsite at Hile Bhanjyang are viewable from this point. Overnight local lodge. -
Day 08: Walking down from Hile Bhanjyang to Narsim Pati (3700m)
It is a pretty easy walk today. The beginning of the trail is the steep uphill section for an hour trip. After enjoying the surrounding greenery, we start to climb down for three hours. The trail is dominated by the rhododendron forests and rocky hills. We set our camps near the holy-inn that is made for the people on the pilgrimage tour. Overnight at the tented camp. -
Day 09: Narsim Pati to PachPokhari (4100 m)
It is a huge day of the trip. From Narsim, we gradually climb up through the rocky hills and reach the PachPokhari. It signifies five Lakes that are regarded as the holy lakes for the Hindu people. They also make a pilgrimage trip to this place. They are dedicated to Lord Shiva and a fair is held at the Janai Purnima festival. Small huts are built for the pilgrimage devotees. We spent the rest of the time exploring the Lakes. Overnight at the tented camp. -
Day 10: Reaching the Panch Pokhari top, trek to Tupi Danda (2320 m)
Hiking Duration: 6-7 Hrs. The journey starts quite early today with the charming views of the mountains. From the top of the PachPokhari, we can see Mt. Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal Range, Rolwaling Range and Langtang Range soundly. Then we retrace to the campsite and pack up the things. Then we descend through the steep trail through the rhododendron forest to Tupi Danda, which is our campsite today. Overnight at the tented camp. -
Day 11: Tupi Danda to Dhap (1200 m)
Hiking Duration: 4-5 Hrs. The trekking today goes through the steep downhill trail and the second section goes through the easy trail. Going through the beautiful terraced hillside and gorges, we reach a small but appealing ethnic settlement of the Tamang people at Dhap. It is a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into the culture, traditions, and architectural prosperity of the local people of the village. Overnight at the tented camps. -
Day 12: Observing the culture and a full day break
We spend the rest of the day trolling around and cleaning ourselves. Visiting the local villages and cultural connection with the common lifestyles of the people. Overnight at the tented camps. -
Day 13: Dhap to Melamchi (800 m)
Hiking Duration: 5-6 Hrs. Again, we are walking through the terraced fields and the riverbed of the Indrāvati River. We cross the spectacular villages and also explore the hydroelectric project. We walk down to Tipini and adjoin the roadway. We reached the Melamchi Bridge Bazaar at the bank of the Melamchi River. It is quite a densely populated place with lodges and an open marketplace. We spent today here. Overnight local lodge. -
Day 14: Melamchi to Kathmandu
Driving Duration: 5-6 Hrs. It is a journey from Melamchi to Kathmandu that gives you scenic pleasure throughout the journey. The glimmering views include streams, rivers, lush forests, and the scattered hilly settlements. We are gradually leaving the wonderful mountain landscape and entering into the densely populated Kathmandu city. Then you transfer to the hotel and rest. Overnight at the hotel. -
Day 15. Love Kathmandu Tour
Continuing the tour around the Kathmandu valley, you will get several opportunities to capture the artistic and the real life of Kathmandu along with its centuries-old monuments reflecting the real history of the country by your eyes as well as capture it through your lens. You will also walk through the oldest supermarkets of Kathmandu; Ahsan, Indrachwok, Kilagal, and the hidden Stupa Shreegal. After all places are explored, you will continue walking to Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is famous for all the cultures and traditions it glorifies. The most unique experience in the square is the visit to the temple of a living goddess “Kumari”. Durbar square would provide you a glimpse of all of the culture, history, art, architecture, and traditional values prevalent in Kathmandu valley. After finishing sightseeing, you will return to your hotel by walking or if you want to experience a rickshaw ride, you can hire a 3 bicycle wheeled means of transportation famous in the Thamel and the Kathmandu durbar square area. After you reach the hotel, you can yourself in packing your luggage and get ready for the next day’s final departure and enjoy some final time with the friends you made along the trip. Overnight in the hotel. -
Day 16: Departure Day
Finally, the trekking trip comes to an end and sadly, this would be the last day we would see and provide our services to you. We would cherish every moment we had with your presence and hope that you would too. Our team members would drop you off at the airport 3 hours before the flight’s time from where you would return to your home state. But, we would love to stay connected and do more such trips together again in the future; looking forward to meeting you again!
