OVERVIEW

Introduction:

Trekkers are often attracted to Nepal because of the beautiful trekking destinations that are found here, and Arun Valley is one of them. Arun valley lies in the Makalu region. The Arun valley trek route is not as popular as other trekking routes of Nepal. But the route offers you scenic views and wild experiences. This trekking route is not so populated by other trekkers so you can peacefully enjoy the route.

Your trek begins with a flight to Tumlingtar with a beautiful view downwards. You will get to interact with the locals and enjoy their warm accommodations. The route is full of pines and oaks with blooming rhododendron flowers. You will pass through the small streams and rivers. The route offers you with the view of snow-capped mountains, landscapes, and waterfalls. On the way, you will get to visit ancient monasteries and also visit the holy pond of Hindus that is Salpa Pokhari. One can also see rare wild animals as we pass through the wildlife reservation areas.

During the trek, you will pass through many villages and get to see their culture and way of living. This trek to Arun Valley will add a beautiful memory in your trekking diaries. You will get to explore the hidden valleys during the trek. One can view the parts of Mount Everest and Mount Makalu as they hike ahead. This trek shows the beauty of the eastern part of Nepal. ITINERARY

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

    After you arrive in TIA, our representative will be waiting for you to guide through the streets of Kathmandu and reach to your selected hotel. In the evening you can roam the local areas nearby the hotel and the heritages nearby. You can go through the maps and outlines of the trip at the night. We will also be providing you the orientation for the trek in the afternoon.
  • Day 02: Fly to Tumlintar and trek to Kartiki Ghat

    We will take an early morning flight for Tumlingtar viewing beautiful valley down. After landing in Tumlintar, we will start our trek towards Kartiki Ghat. On the way, we can see beautiful terraced lands and Himalayas. Cardamon is the most grown cash crop in the villages we pass through. Our path is across the Arun river and finally, our night will be at Kartiki Ghat village.
  • Day 03: Trek from Kartiki Ghat to Gothe Bazaar (2247ft/6825m)

    After having breakfast, we will start the trek. Today we have our route steeper, we will pass through small streams and tropical forests. Our path passes the side of the Arun river then we will climb Marduwa which is a small hamlet. After some hours of walk, we will reach Gorthe Bazaar where you can see the people of the Gurung and Rai community. We will spend our night in a local guesthouse in this village.
  • Day 04: Trek from Gothe Bazaar to Salpa Phedi (4986ft/1520m)

    Continuing the trial we will head towards Dhobani village which is famous for paper making. You will have amazing experiences on the way. You will get to see different types of ancient houses and the occupations they follow. The places here are not so crowded, you will also see fishermen fishing in the river. Climbing forward we will reach our destination for the night that is Salpa Phedi.
  • Day 05: Trek from Salpa Phedi to Guranse (9842ft/3000m)

    Following the trail, we will head towards Jau Bari which will take several hours of climbing. This village is famous for growing best barely in the region. From here you will have a wonderful view of the valley and you can also visit the Sherpa monastery. After a few hours of walk, we will reach Guranse and have a night stay there.
  • Day 6: Trek from Gurase to Sanam (9317ft/2840m)

    After having breakfast we will head towards Salpa Pokhari which is a holy pond of Hindus. From here you can see the views of Makalu and Chamlang. On the way, you will also get to see Rhododendrons and river streams. Then we will walk across the hillside and reach Sanam and relax there for the night with a warm dinner.
  • Day 7: Trek from Sanam to Bung (1900m)

    Commencing the trek we will pass through the forest full of brown oaks and chir pines and reach the village of Shorung. After two hours of trek, we will reach Gudel village which is inhabiitant of Rai community people. After crossing the Hinku river bridge we will enter Bung which lies in the Makalu Barun Conservation Area. We will be spending a night in Bung.
  • Day 8: Trek from Bung to Gaikharka

    After early morning breakfast, we will start our trek for Gaikharka. We will pass through the bamboo forest and reach Najindigma village and enter savannah which is the place for locals to graze their yaks. After an hour of walk, we will reach Gaikharka, here you can enjoy the landscapes and farmhouses. We will sleep here for the night.
  • Day 9: Trek from Gaikharka to Vasme

    Today our trail will move down across the old moraines and pass through the juniper forest. You can see the Hinku river alongside and after a few hours we will reach Vame. From here you can see beautiful Mera peak which is 6476m long and also have a glimpse of upper Khumbu. We will rest for the night in a local guesthouse in Vasme.
  • Day 10: Trek from Vasme to Panggom (2804m)

    Leaving Vasme village we will hike towards Panggom La Pass passing through rhododendron forest. Panggom La Pass offers you mesmerizing views of snow-covered peaks – Mera Peak, Kusum Kanguru, Kangtega, and many others. After spending sometimes there, we will walk down to Panggom village and relax for the night is a local tea house.
  • Day 11: Trek from Panggom to Paiya (2730m)

    We will have our breakfast in Panggom and continue the trial. Passing through the forests and beautiful views of snow-capped mountains, we will reach Paiya village. You can explore the places around the village for the remaining day. Our dinner will be ready in the local style by the locals.
  • Day 12: Trek from Paiya to Phakding (2610m)

    Heading towards Phakding, we will pass through Chukot and Chheplung. During the trek to Phakding you will get to see many ancient monasteries and amazing views of mountains. We will spend the night in Phakding village enjoying the traditional accommodations of Sherpa people.
  • Day 13: Trek from Phakding to Lukla:

    Today will be our end hike to Lukla. We will leave Phakding and cross over Dudh Koshi River and then pass through the pine forest full of rhododendron. Finally, after passing through many villages we will reach Lukla which will be our stay for the night.
  • Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu

    We will have a flight of 40 minutes to Kathmandu, you will have a flattering view of mountains, valley, and landscapes down. After landing in Kathmandu our representative will drop you at your hotel. You can relax your day with a fresh bath and warm foods.
  • Day 15: Departure from Kathmandu

    Our representative will help you reach to TIA by arranging you a farewell lunch in a typical Nepali style and help you at the airport to fly you back to your place. In case you want further trips to Nepal, you can inform us, we will arrange it for you as per your comfort.
