We have booked early morning flights to Lukla far from Kathmandu. Those bored with filthy city areas will be pleased with their upcoming trip to the naturally preserved, amazing dust-free Khumbu region of eastern Nepal. The flight will take about 40 minutes to reach Lukla as it is in the north-eastern direction 138 km from Kathmandu. Just before landing in Lukla, picturesque mountain views welcome trekkers, through which you can experience a breathtaking scenario of lush green hills and torrential rivers flowing beneath you. Trekkers get closer and closer to the naturally blessed Khumbu area with each passing minute. As soon as you land at Lukla Airport, our hiking guide will direct you to give you your first trekking experience in eastern Nepal. In today's starting step of your trek, you first descend to a location named Chaurikharka and later ascend towards the village of Phakding. We planned this short trek while remembering that at a high altitude of 2.800 meters above the sea level you have just exceeded that. So, it can take the body some time to adapt to the new environment. Stay at Phakding overnight.
Our journey still has several phases left to enchant us, and now you are going to wake up with the feeling of being close to the Himalayan mountains. When you wake up, you will be with a mouth-watering breakfast that needs to fill your tummy to the fullest to ensure you can complete the entire trek without getting tired during your trek. Continuing our quest, we now ascend further and enjoy the beautiful scenic view of Mt. Thamserku after entering the village of Benkar. Trekkers must cross the milky white Dudh Koshi River multiple times across high suspension bridges where heavy afternoon winds blow in. Moving forward on our trip, we now arrive at the village of Monjo and Jorsale that is also the entry point to join the Sagarmatha National Park. Here the appropriate officers review your trekking permits, after which you start to walk in the direction of Namche Bazaar. Until entering Namche Bazaar, we must rest at Chautara from where hikers can enjoy all the snow-capped mountain views worth remembering. Eventually, we enter the busy, crescent-shaped town of Namche Bazaar, where we will stay for the night and have our dinner. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Acclimatization is essential during hiking in the Himalayas. Today we take some excursion to rest for proper acclimatization. We will walk to the Everest View Hotel, the best place to see some of the outstanding mountains like Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, etc. You can walk around Khumjung Valley, Hillary School, and Khunde Hospital and return to Namche afterward. You will spend some time in Namche Bazaar engaging with the fun-loving Sherpa and Rai people. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
We leave Namche bazaar this day and walk along the ridge for a while and then descend at Phunkithanka to Dudh Koshi River. Then we climb in the steep route up to the Tengboche after crossing the bridge. You can see the nearby monastery on arrival to Tengboche. Tengboche has the Khumbu region's largest monastery. Stay overnight in Tengboche.
The next day we would leave Tengboche early in the morning. We 're retracing our journey to Namche Bazaar this day. We descend to the Dudh Koshi on the steep slope, and then climb up to Namche Bazaar. Stay overnight in Namche.
After our breakfast is over, we will pack our bags and tighten our shoelaces to begin our trek that goes down from Namche Bazaar to the lower hill areas of Lukla. Keeping our easy pace walk, we cross several high suspension bridges again, you might recall walking along the trail just as you were there a few days ago. Continuing, we are now passing the Hillary Bridge and some other bridges that can be seen all over with copious flags of Buddhist prayer. Now as the altitude decreases and the number of molecules of oxygen begins to increase so you can feel the air getting denser and denser. Likewise, the temperature is also beginning to rise higher than at Namche bazaar, as trekkers attempt to reach Lukla well below Namche Bazaar. Trekkers will encounter numerous stupas and monasteries, mani walls along their way down to Lukla and can start hearing the roaring sound of the Dudh Koshi River flowing harshly below. We travel through several forested trails of rhododendron and pine trees covering large areas while watching some of the snowcapped mountains' last glances. You take a rest inside a small lodge when you enter Lukla and spend your remaining time enjoying the local dishes before going to sleep. Stay overnight at Lukla.
We have an early morning flight back to Kathmandu today as scheduled which will take us over some of the most spectacular hills and valleys. After around 40 minutes, a representative of Icicles Adventure shall move you to your hotel rooms. You can rest and relax while inside your house or go out for some souvenir shopping in the Thamel area. Finally, you will be returning to your hotel room and start packing all your items for your departure flight tomorrow. Stay in Kathmandu for the overnight.
Before the departure flight, again our representative will take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport. In you free time you can visit some nearby places or restaurants if you want.
