The beautiful village of Ghandruk is found in western Nepal and inhabited by the Gurung community. It is a hill station and hiking place from where you can enjoy the local culture, sunrise, sunsets, panoramic Mountain View, etc. It is a touristic village with nearly 300 households and a community based responsible and eco-tourism in Nepal. Ghandruk is a Gurung village with stone-roof traditional small houses with paved paths. Every morning as u wake up you will be blessed to view the most beautiful sunrise within the mountains and Himalayas. Get to explore the rural beauty of Nepal. It is a gorgeous town and a Village Development Committee (VDC) within the Kaski District within the Gandaki zone of north-central Nepal. The distance between Pokhara and Ghandruk is 20 km. The road distance is 53.4 km. Ghandruk VDC, with 986 households and 5529 population (according to the census year 2011). Being culturally a rich heritage village, Ghandruk offers you warm hospitality throughout your stay. The main attraction of Ghandruk trek is to explore and experience the beautiful village life, majestic Himalayas views, cross-culture, and many more. Hike on foot trails of Annapurna is an easy trek to anyone and is fascinating due to its natural beauty. It is trekking, fit for anyone at any time. Ghandruk is the most scenic and popular trek which can be done from Pokhara. A spectacular panorama of the Himalayas in the Annapurna can be spotted from Ghandruk such as Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III,  Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre. There’s also an old Gurung museum in the village.

During your trek, you can observe beautiful forests, hills, and mountains. As Ghandruk is a home for a large number of species, plants, animals, and mountains you can get the spectacular view of forest covered with rhododendrons and many flowers especially during the spring season. The magnificent view of the Annapurna Mountain range is breathtaking; no wonder why every year hundreds of tourists visit this village.
The trek is usually wiped out 6 or 7 days. We recommend you arrange trekking only through trekking agencies that will benefit you a lot more.


Itenerary

With access to air transport or bus transport, you can arrive at Kathmandu and spend a day traveling and exploring the city or you can prepare yourself by buying all the necessary items needed for the trek. You can have your breakfast or brunch at some famous cafes around the city and try authentic Nepali cuisine as a dinner at night.
You can have time to explore the beauty of the city as it is famous for its art, culture, and architecture. Some popular sites include Kathmandu’s Durbar Square and its narrow alleyways teeming with small shops, ancient temples, and local restaurants. There's also Swayambhunath temple and Bouddhanath temple, where you can watch the sunset over the valley and the Himalaya to your north.
You will be wakened up as early as possible and through a vehicle, you will be taken to the airport. As you reach Pokhara with the access of jeep you will reach Phedi, from where your trek will begin. After 2-3hrs walk you will reach Dhampus. From Dhampus, the trail continues to ascend along a stone-paved path.
After an hour of walk-in Deurali, you will begin a steep trek downwards to reach Tolkha and Landruk after that. Both are beautiful ethnical villages of the Gurung community. You'll cross an iron bridge leading you to a steep uphill that finally reaches Ghandruk where you will stay overnight and enjoy the spectacular views of Himalayas.
Start your early morning breakfast with the view of beautiful mountains and pure surroundings. You can roam around Grandruk village and acknowledge the lifestyle of people. Your next destination will be at Nayapul for which you will have to walk for an hour. Through a vehicle, you will be taken back to Pokhara to catch a flight to Kathmandu.
Enjoy your last day in Kathmandu by getting to places like Thamel(Tourist hub of Kathmandu), Temples, Monuments, durbar square and shop for souvenirs. Realize about the rich art and cultural history of Nepal by visiting Museums and obtain to understand this country better.
