OVERVIEW

Gosainkunda lake is known for its serenity and purity. It is an alpine freshwater lake located in the Rasuwa district at an altitude of above 4000 meters. The Goshaikunda Yoga Trek is designed for those who want to explore the varied landscapes, flora, and fauna, culture which is often hailed in this mighty land. 

One can witness and discover the beauty of stunning Lantang mountain ranges from the Langtang National Park. The opportunity doesn’t limit here as trekkers are also treated with mind-calming Yoga and meditation sessions around monasteries, temples, and the lap of nature.

 

The program starts in Kathmandu. We will be heading towards Syabrubesi, a great place to explore the vibrant Tamang culture. The trek takes us to Langtang village and the mighty Goshaikunda lake. It holds a great religious significance among Hindus as it is believed that Lord Shiva created the lake by thrusting his trident into the mountain to have some water after he swallowed poison. So, many pilgrims from Nepal and India visit this place to celebrate their faith. Being a part of a yoga session up there surrounded by mountains and beautiful nature feels heavenly.

 

The trek continues with the beautiful scenery of hills, mountains, waterfalls crossing the Langtang region, reaching Chisapani, Sundarijal, and finally the city of temples, i.e., Kathmandu. The yoga session adds more beauty to this trek as you will be celebrating life and your inner self like this mighty land.

ITINERARY

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 meters).

    Our airport representative will be waiting for you at the Tribhuwan International Airport. He will soon transfer you to the hotel where you can make yourself comfortable and rest for a while. You will be served a typical Nepali welcome dinner at night. Before that, you can stroll around the bustling streets of Kathmandu. They have some interesting stories to tell. They are the reflection of varied cultures and practices that prevail in the valley.
  • Day 02: Dart to Syabrubesi by bus

    Day 2 features a scenic road trip to Syabrubesi. It takes around 7-8 hours from Kathmandu to reach Syabrubesi. The magnificent trip takes Nepal's diverse landscapes, lush green hills, snow-capped mountains and rural hamlets. As we head towards Syabrubesi, the Trishuli River will run alongside us. The first part of today entails traveling through the Trishuli Bazaar, which offers a breathtaking view of the mountains, the Trishuli river, hills, and towns. We will then ascend a challenging Dhunche trail to reach Syabrubesi finally.
  • Day 03: Trekking from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2640 m)

    To make trekking easier, we can start the Day off by performing some yoga positions and involving in a meditation session. The trail is decorated with diverse plants, including rhododendron and Bamboo. You will be able to observe the Tamang culture as the houses are decorated with colorful prayer flags. We will reach the Lama Hotel after a whole day of trekking. It is a lodge where you will be served special dishes prepared by the locals. Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.
  • Day 04: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3340 m)

    The Day starts with early morning yoga classes with the first rays of the sun striking on the stunning Langtang Mountain Range. Chat with the locals to know about their culture, values, and origin story. The trek takes us through the dense alpine forest to Goda Tabela. You'll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Langtang village, agriculture fields, and well-maintained housing. Not only that, but when you arrive in the Langtang region, nature will greet you with snow-covered snowy summits. The road is in the recovery phase after the destruction caused by the earthquake.
  • Day 05: Langtang village to Kyanjing Gompa (3860 m)

    After early morning breakfast and light yoga session, we will travel through the path that weaves through lush yak pastures, glacier moraine, and streams. The snow-capped Himalayas are gazing at the trekkers, expressing how magnificent and compassionate nature is. Langtang Lirung, Dorje Larpa, and Langtang Ri will be dressed in white snowy apparel. You'll forget what it's like to climb a trail for a spell. Kyanjing Gompa is a famous Buddhist monastery of the Langtang region. You will hear the ancient Buddhist tales there and meditate for a bit for mind cleansing.
  • Day 06: Trek back to Lama Hotel

    We'll be descending the trail past the renowned Ghoda Tabela. After breakfast, we will take the same road back to the Lama hotel. The Yoga session will be amidst the trail. It is very good for keeping the body active. It will be a long day of hiking through Langtang village, alpine woodlands, and the Tamang settlement of Ghoda Tabela before arriving at the Lama Hotel. You can pause and admire how beautiful the mountains are. We'll stop by and soak in the beauty that the rural village has to offer, as well as their history and current lives.
  • Day 07: Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2540 m)

    We will make our way to Thulo Syabru after having breakfast and a Yoga practice session. We will walk beyond Bamboo and prepare for some difficult hill climbing to reach Thulo Syabru. This village is mostly popular as a settlement of Tamang people. You will be able to taste the authentic Tamang cuisine hereafter in the meditation session.
  • Day 08: Trek to Lauribina (3920 m)

    The altitude rises, so it makes the trek and meditation session a bit difficult. Drink water in breaks between the trek and practice some light yoga positions in between. You will be fine. Our destination for today is the remote sides of Langtang National Park and ultimately the monastery Sing Gompa. We will become a part of prayers there. Lauribina is famous among the trekkers in this region. So, we will walk through the woods and reach Lauribina to rest there.
  • Day 09: Lauribina to Goshaikunda (4210 m)

    We will finish the morning meditation session and walk towards Goshaikunda. The trekking hours are not so long for today. The mind-numbing beauty of snow-covered mountains will blow your mind. You will unravel the religious history of the origin of Goshaikunda, Bhairav Kunda, and Dudh Kunda. If you enjoy meditation, you can do it outdoors. You can catch a cold, but it is a beautiful spiritual experience. Overnight in Gosainkunda.
  • Day 10: Goshaikunda to Gopte (3640 m)

    In the morning, you will witness the tranquil image of Gosainkunda and practice YogaYoga outside. You can capture some photographs for memory. We'll get to Gupte by crossing the deadly Lauribina La Pass. You have to be extra cautious as the pass is treacherous. We will then travel downhill from the past, admiring the beautiful scenery. Overnight in Gupte.
  • Day 11: Gopte to Kutumsang (2540 m)

    The Day starts with our participation in the morning yoga practices. The trail goes downward and easy as we head to Kutumsang. It is a Tamang settlement that features thick vegetation. We will enjoy the trek with breathtaking views of mountains and hills. Overnight in Kutumsang.
  • Day 12: Kutumsang to Chisapani (2330 m)

    We will be spending our night today in Chisapani. Our morning Yoga session will refresh our soul, and we will be ready for the Day. We'll now venture deeper into human settlement. After breakfast, we will trek downwards through various settlements within the Shivapuri National Park. After hours of descending, we arrived in Chisapani. It is a small hill station that is a popular resting spot for trekkers as well. We will indulge in meditation class as pre-scheduled, enjoy the vista of hills and mountains. Overnight in Chisapani.
  • Day 13: Chisapani – Sundarijal – Kathmandu

    Today, we will walk downwards through many human settlements of Tamang people. The trek is almost at the end. We can discover the Kathmandu valley as soon as we cross Mulkharka and other Tamang settlements. Sundarijal is known for its beautiful waterfalls. Kathmandu is about 15 kilometers away from here. Our representative will be there to pick us up and transfer us to the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
  • Day 14: Kathmandu sightseeing

    Kathmandu is famous as the name of the city of temples. We can say that this place blends traditional art and culture with westernization perfectly. Some famous UNESCO enlisted cultural heritage sites like Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, swayambhunath, etc. These three spots will be our travel destinations for the Day. They hold a great religious significance and also prove that Hinduism and Buddhism co-exist in this mighty land. At night, you will be a part of a special farewell dinner complemented by Nepali folk music. Overnight in Kathmandu.
  • Day 15: Final Departure

    You will start the Day with a light Yoga session early in the morning. Then, our airport representative will transfer you to the Tribhuwan International Airport for the flight back to your home country. You will be ready to face the world with beautiful memories of the Goshaikunda Yoga trek. So, it is time to bid you goodbye until next time.
