Trip Overview

The word Tsum is derived from the Tibetan word which means “vivid” which means home. Being one of the remotest Himalayan valleys, the simple and the real beauty makes the trek much more cherish and relish. This route stands among the most marvelous treks in the Himalaya in Nepal.

  Due to modernization and commercialization, people find this route a little boring as communication hasn’t reached there. But trust the fact that as modernization has not affected you can feel the purity of the environment. This trek was open since 2008. This trek route is a bit different from rough steep tracks but very simple accommodation and since the past few years, this region is gaining massive popularity and offers the finest trekking route for the passionate trekkers on the lap of Himalayans.

 This trekking route is extensively privileged by the cultural and tradition abides with Buddhist monasteries, and significant religious monuments. The longest walls at Dzong and Phurpe are a great source of attraction. This trek route is bit discarded but once you reached there their unique culture and most hospitable behavior here offers you in friendly welcome traditional. 

Our trek start and endpoint is Arughat, a seven hours drive from Kathmandu. This trek gives us a surprising view of the landscapes and the mountains like Ganesh Himal, Boudha Himal, and many more. We will start our delightful trip to Arughat from the Kathmandu valley. When we move forward our trek we will pass through Rhododendron ( which is the national flower of Nepal and it is found only above the altitude of 4877m(above 16,000 f).

Itenerary

Day 01 Drive to Soti Khola (Arughat) (700m) from Kathmandu; 7-8 hours drive
7-8 hour´s drive from Kathmandu into the western mountains takes us to our new destination Arughat - Soti Khola via, headquarter of the Dhading district. Through the muddy road from Dhadingbesi viewing the greenery hills, we reach Arughat then Soti Khola. Our trekking starting point is the bank of Budhi Gandaki river. we will spend our night in a local lodge. Our 3 times Meals are included.
Day 02 Trek to Machha Khola (890m); 6 -7 hrs walk
Crossing the beautiful Sal forests we will climb onto a bridge of the huge river Budhi Gandaki. It eventually takes the Gurung village of Labubesi. Climbing behind a rocky mountain, where the valley opens by the maunders flow of the Budhi Gandaki. We will spend our night Machha Khola.
Day 03 Trek to Jagat (1400m) 6-7 hrs walk.
Some minor ups and downs and eventually we will cross the Tharo Khola. Ascending to the Budhi Gandaki, we reach the new crossway toward our new destination Yaru Khola. We will move forward and reach our destination and we Jagat. It’s a village and we will spend our night there.
Day 04 Trek to Lokpa (2040m), 6 hrs walk.
After having our breakfast we will head toward our new destination. On the way to our destination, we will Climb up to Philim, a large Gurung village. Philim valley is well known for its Japanese made school and police station. Walk past Philim to the north across we will reach to Lokpa. We will have our Overnight stay at Lokpa.
Day 05 Trek to Chumling (2386m); 4-5 hrs walk.
After having our night stay in Lokpa we will trek through pines and rhododendrons and reach Gumlung. Crossing the Siyar Khola, finally arrive we will reach Chumling, known as lower Tsum, from where we can have the view Shringi Himal and have night stay here in Chumling.
Day 06 Trek to Chhokangparo (3031m), 5-6 hrs walk
To enjoy the breathtaking views of Ganesh Himal we will have to Walk Serpu Khola crossing another bridge we will reach the Gho Village. Another continuous 2 hours climb to Tsum takes us to our destination Chhokang Parovillage.
Day 07 Trek to Nile (3361m) Piren Phu Cave, 5-6 hrs walk
After spending our night at Chhokangparo we will consume our breakfast and head toward new destination Nile. we will visit a cave which also known as Piren Phu meaning “Pigeon cave. We will Stay in the Nile.
Day 08 Excursion Mu Gompa (3700 m) and Dhephyudonma Gompa (4060m) 4-5 hrs. walk.
We are now close to our northern Tibetan border. Today we will also excursion the mu Gompa village. Here we will visit the monastery. Today we make a sightseeing of the whole Mu Gompa Region which is the largest monastery in the region. This part lies at the highest as well as the most remote part of the Tsum Valley. We will stay there that night.
Day 09 Trek to Chhekamparo (3031m), 4-5 hrs walk.
Today we will have an easy walk to Chhekamparo after consuming our breakfast we will reach there after the walk of 4-5 hrs. we will stay there the night.
Day 10 Trek to Gumpa Lungdang (3200m), 5-6 hrs walk
We will be welcomes by Tibetan tea by the nun, we will have to walk up about 5-6 hours that takes us to Gumba Lungdang. here the basic shelter and meals are provided by the monastery. We will stay there that particular night.
Day 11 Hike to Ganesh Himal Base Camp (4200m)7-8 hrs
Today we will have to walk a long way to reach our new destination. Altitude can make this day difficult for some trekkers, but you will be lucky enough to view the forest wilderness and views make it an outstanding trip.
Day 12 Trek to Lokpa, 6-7 hrs. walk.
Today, after breakfast at Lokpa, we will walk downward to Jagat. We continue to walk passing through Eklai Bhatti, Philim, crossing Buddhi Gandaki, and finally to Jagat. We will stay overnight in Jagat.
Day 13 Trek to Lapubesi(900m) 6-7 hrs walk.
From Jagat, the trail goes down to Bagar and Continues the journey toward Khorlabesi, and finally, we will stay overnight in Lapubesi. Today we will have to walk 6-7 hrs.
Day 14 Trek to Arughat, approximately 6-7 hrs walk.
Today, it is the last day of our trekking in Tsum Valley trek. We will walk toward Arughat from Lapu Besi after having our morning meal.
Day 15 Drive toward Kathmandu from Arughat, 7-8 hrs drive.
We will drive toward Kathmandu it would take 7-8 hrs to reach Kathmandu. This journey will be finished but the memories created there will last forever.
