Chomolhari Trekking- 12 days

Trip Overview

There is very little tourist traffic on the pristine trekking routes in Bhutan. This is primarily a positive offshoot of the Bhutanese government's policy limiting tourists to 5000 a year. Naturally one has a pleasant sensation of breaking fresh ground on treks in Bhutan.

Chomolahari trek explores a great variety of trekking conditions, including Bhutanese culture from remote farmland and blue pine forests, to alpine pastureland and breathtaking mountain views.

Bhutan Chomolhari trek introduces the range of traditional Himalayan culture, people, and landscape in Bhutan.  People can view the lushness of the foothills with beautiful subtropical, subalpine, and higher altitude alpine views.

The Chomolhari trek follows the crystal clear trout-rich upstream trail of Para Chu along the verdant rhododendron canopied forests and salubrious green alpine meadows. Mt. Chomolhari, having one of the most beautiful peaks in the Eastern Himalaya, stands st a magnificent (7314m) with age-old frontier forts and sprawling yak pastures in its foreground; a truly rewarding sight for the determined trekker. One the course of the trek, one will have sojourned through several places rich in history in Paro, Thimpu, and Punakha.
