Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Semi Circuit Trekking an adventure of two-week time frame that leads you to enjoy the spectacular scenery of unique contrast of landscapes and high peaks that keeps leaves you awe-stricken.

Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Semi Circuit Trekking where you will be in the midst of Annapurna and Chulu range of peaks, as walk progress crossing high Thorang-la pass with Dhaulagiri and southern Annapurna, truly a great walk with constant views of mountains that never ceases till treks end at beautiful Pokhara.    

Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Semi Circuit will be an enjoyable adventure as this walk covers most of the wonderful and scenic sides of Annapurna and taking a short flight from Jomsom at the end of the journey.

Starting Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Semi Circuit Trekking taking an overland drive from Kathmandu towards Nepal Mid West around the low warmer valley where the trek begins following raging Marysangdi River upstream into cooler alpine areas filled with serene woodland of tall rhododendron-oaks and pine tree lines and nice country farm villages.

As walk progress exploring local culture of Manang villages enriched with age-old heritage attached with Buddhism religion and culture heading into scenic Manang valley enclosed by an array of peaks with Annapurna range in the south with Chulus in the north includes Manaslu Mountains towards east direction.

Finally reaching into main Manang villages with time for sidewalk and excursion on rest days with charming views where our route leaves the main trail of Annapurna Circuit heading into hidden areas at picturesque country within beautiful Tilicho Lake.

At Tilicho Lake enjoy the spectacular scenery of mountains and its emerald colored lake, where walk leads back on the main trails to cross over Thorang-la pass to reach at lower Mustang areas at holy Muktinath, a place with a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu (one of the main three gods of Hindu religion).

From here down at Kaligandaki River valley to reach at Jomsom, headquarter and main town of Mustang areas and home of Thakali people, situated on old Trans Himalayan Caravan and Salt Trade route of Nepal and Tibet, at Jomsom ending our adventure taking a scenic, short flight to reach at Pokhara, a renowned touristic spot in whole Himalaya blessed with natural beauty of mountains and lakes.

Day 01:   Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02:   Kathmandu sightseeing

Day 03:   Drive to Dharapani 1,860 m- 07 hrs.

Day 04:   Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hrs.

Day 05:   Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs.

Day 06:   Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m - 05 hrs.

Day 07:   Rest day at Manang for local hike and acclimatization.

Day 08:   Trek to Khangsar 3,734m - 04 hrs.

Day 09:   Trek to Tilicho Base Camp 4,150 m / 13,615ft)-04 hrs

Day 10:   Trek to Tilicho Lake 4,920m / 16,141 ft walk back to Siri-Kharka 4,000 m - 05 hrs.

Day 11:   Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 06 hrs.

Day 12:   Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs.

Day 13:   Cross Thorang-La Pass 5,416 m and walk to Muktinath 3,800 - 06 hrs.

Day 14: From Muktinath drive to Tatopani 1,190 m (Hot spring) - 04 hrs.

Day 15: Trek to Ghorepani village 2,880 m - 06 hrs.

Day 16: Hike to Poon Hill 3,210 m and trek to Birethanti and and drive to Pokhara.

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 18: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.

Itenerary

On reaching at Kathmandu international airport received by staff and guide with warm welcome then transfer to your hotel in centre of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed in your rooms join for group briefing regarding your stay in Nepal, where guides will provide information about the trek-local lodge-hotels-culture and other necessary information related to this trekking.

In Kathmandu, a free day preparation for Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Semi Circuit trekking with optional sightseeing around Kathmandu, as the valley is steeped with many world heritage sites and important monuments and religious-historical sites.
Morning a long and interesting overland journey from Kathmandu to reach Nepal Mid-West around Lamjung district at Besar town and then towards Manang areas, where drive leads to Syange by the bank of Marysangdi River, with climb from here for few hours to reach a nice village at Jagat, after a refreshing stop at Jagat continue drive on gradual winding trail with superb views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges to reach at Dharapani village for overnight stop.
Morning walk leads on a winding path within rhododendron, pine forest through Bagachap and Danque village, towards Tamang village, from here onward into more Buddhist cultural areas facing views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m. After Taming village a few hours walks to Koto and then at Chame town for an overnight stop, a large and major town and headquarter of Manang area.
AThe adventure continues into the cooler area from here onwards heading closer to mountains, as trek leads into nice alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following Masrsyangdi River upstream with few short ups and down hills to Bhratang village. From Bhratang village walk follows with uphill within green pine woodland overlooking Chulus and Pisang peaks, an afternoon with lunch break where route descends to lower Pisang village for ocean right stop.
Morning walk from Pisang village leads through tall pines and rhododendron trees with short uphill and views of staggering Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulus and Pisang peak. As walk continues reaching at Hongdae village, from here tree lines disappear for barren, landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate. Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics and then an hour walk brings at Manang village. The houses here are built up in traditional Tibetan style and Manang people are known for their rich culture and traditions.
A necessary rest day for acclimatization before heading higher elevation, explore Manang village, located beneath Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain range and Manang glacial Lake.
From Manang, our route leads off and away and beyond Manang Valley to reach Tilicho Lake, on leaving the main Annapurna Circuit trail heading into the complete wilderness and getting closer to high Himalayan peaks. The walk leads through Manang village where our path diverts heading due south to reach first at Khangsar village for an overnight stop, a remote and last settlement of Manang on route to Tilicho Lake and towards Mesokanto-La pass.
After a peaceful and quiet overnight in Khangsar, morning walks starts with a climb up a hill facing tremendous views of Gangapurna and Tilicho Peaks at close distance, as our morning progress walking into the sheer wilderness of arid and barren landscapes, with few bushes of juniper and Burberry prickly plants. The walk leads into the narrow trail with short climb and ups to reach our highlight destination with an overnight stop at Tilicho Base Camp facing panorama of snow-clad peaks at near distance, with the afternoon free to marvel the beauty of surrounding peaks and dramatic landscapes.
Today morning walk reached you at our main highlight of the adventure with a steep climb for short-while and then descend to a shore of beautiful turquoise colored Tilicho Lake, a magnificent spot surrounded by high peaks of Tilicho and Gangapurna Himal. Enjoy ha like around the lake, regarded as sacred spot by both religions Hindu and Buddhist, truly a most mind-blowing experience to visit this lovely emerald lake of Tilicho. With glorious scenic moment at Tilicho Lake, where afternoon walk leads to a climb and then on the gradual level path to reach our overnight stop at a small and isolated place at Siri-Kharka, after a great marvelous day.
On completing our visit other sides of Manang valley around Tilicho Lake area, morning walk leads towards Khangsar village on uphill path then on near level trail to reach at a nice place in Yak Kharka for overnight stop, an interesting high altitude Yak grazing pasture at Yak Kharka with some good lodge to stay where you can catch tremendous views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.
Morning adventure heading high areas at the base of Thorang-la after climbing along the river bank, as walk leads to Thorang Phedi (bottom/base), from here an hour of steep climb takes you at Thorang High Camp for oven overnight stop.
Today main highlight of the adventure, having early breakfast where trek leads to a steep climb to reach at high Thorang-la at above 5,416 m, facing tremendous panorama of snowcapped peaks, after feeling in high spirits on reaching the main highest spot of the trip where walk follows on long downhill to Muktinath at 3,800 m. On reaching Muktinath for one night stop, a holy place for both Hindus and Buddhists the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.
After Muktinath, where walking parts ends as motorable road has reached to this point at Muktinath to the Tatopani. Our walk continues from Tatopani to Ghorepani.
Today we hike to poonhill then continue walk to the Birethanti, which is ending point of our walk, further we drive to Pokhara and stay overnight at hotel at pokhara.
Having early breakfast where interesting drive brings you back in Kathmandu, as drive departs from Pokhara (either tourist coach or in private vehicles), as journey leads past many nice farm villages and town, from Mugling Bazaar following Trisuli River for sometimes, and then on winding uphill to reach into Kathmandu valley as well back to your respective hotels. (Flying options of 30 minutes flights to Kathmandu from Pokhara).

Last day in the country of Himalayan wonders, after an amazing experience and wonderful adventure on Nar-Phu and Annapurna Semi Circuit trek with great service   and then depart from the hotel as per your flight time our staff transfers you to Kathmandu international airport for your homeward flight or to next respective countries.

If you would like to add any service which is not included in the package such as: Pokhara-Kathmandu by flight or private car, Luxurious star hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara, white water rafting, Paragliding, Pokhara tour, we will arrange accordingly and that is subjected to extra cost.

IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.
